Sky Atlantic To Launch Game Of Thrones In April

Sky Atlantic the new TV channel from Sky is going to air Game of Thrones the HBO program in the UK, and by many sources it is not going to be shown much after its US release date of the 17th of April.

The eagerly awaited show based on George RR Martins ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series of books has been described as ‘the sopranos in middle earth’ and has a flavour which is sure to be very reminiscent of HBO’s style. The books are much darker than traditional fantasy and the directors of the series have promised a gritty show full of treachery and sex.

Casting has found some notable names with Sean Bean playing the lead role of Ned Stark (an embattled Nobleman), with Mark Addy as King Robert, Leana Headey as his Queen, with Charles Dance and Peter Dinklage in central roles. Also many exceptional up and coming British thespians have been cast list with Harry Lloyd and Kit Harrington notable. Also Alfie Allen (Lilly’s younger brother) appears and we believe relative debutant Emilia Clarke will steal many scenes in the series.

Fan interest in the project has been intense with a number of fansites covering the creation, casting, and shooting of the entire first series, which was filmed on location in Scotland, Malta, Ireland and Morocco. The Novels author George RR Martin has been fully behind the series, immersed in the production and scripted one of the 10 episodes in the first series.

The deal to acquire the show was struck by Sky in July last year when Sky acquired the rights to show all of HBO’s programming in the UK. Sky launched its new channel Sky Atlantic as a vehicle for its extensive HBO catalogue at the beginning of February this year.

Game of Thrones is a fantasy series made by HBO and will be showing on Sky Atalkantic in the UK. It will be starring Peter Dinklage amongst others.

Can X Factor 2011 Be Successful In The States?

Simon Cowell is well-known for his snide remarks on the contestants of the hit show, American Idol. However, he has announced that he is leaving Idol for a new talent show that he has been brewing up, namely X Factor.

X Factor is a reality talent show in the UK that has been quickly getting the limelight from viewers around the world. It has also been reported that X Factor 2011 will be different in more ways than one, specifically that there will be a X Factor 2011 USA show that might battle it out with Idol.

What does this mean? Will X Factor 2011 beat out American Idol? Answering this query might prove harder than what is being purportedly mentioned, since UK talent is very much different from US talent. And until X Factor is shown, comparing the two will be very hard, especially if you base it on the judges, wherein Idol will have a new set of heavyweight judges for their new season, and the only heavyweight X Factor has is Simon Cowell.

In spite of this, you can find select viewers who have observed American Idol exclusively as a consequence of Simon Cowell on it’s own for his honest and careless statements, therefore it can be contended that Idol will lose some of its spectators to the new USA show.

Even though at this time, it is hard and difficult to compare the two talent shows that have come up with some of the greatest talents everybody ever witnessed, folks will be patiently waiting on Simons witty comments at the diverse acts in X Factor 2011. With this said, Simon cannot be sufficient to hold the viewers that Idol has created for ten years. Do you believe X Factor might be as flourishing in america just as it is usually in the united kingdom? Several think so, but some think differently. What do you think?

Want to find out more about X Factor 2011, then visit Andrew Smith’s site for the latest information and updates.

Creating a Custom Home Theater

Watching movies is a great way to escape from the stressful life we all lead these days. Watching movies on a wide screen with surround sound can transport you away from that stress into the plot of the movie you are watching. You live the plot it as if you were really there in the movie itself.

Until recently, we could only experience this escape in a movie theater. However, modern technology has progressed far enough to be able to redreate the same audio-visual experience right there in your very own living room. We will now talk about the most basic components of a home theater system in this article. Read on to discover how these starter pieces of kit can deliver the best cinematic experience in a custom home theater system.

Experts in home theater contend that the most important factor to consider when setting up a custom home theater system is the size of the location where you will install the home theater system. The most important factor in your custom home theater system, the television, is dependent on the size of the room, although the guideline is that a 27 inch television screen is the absolute minimum necessary for your home theater installation.

It is also recommended that a flat-screen television be used for a home theater system because it shows less glare and creates a crisper image. Another major component in a custom home theater system which is again dependent on the size of the location, is the loudspeaker system.

The number of speakers for your custom home theater system depends on the size of the location. You should have at least three loudspeakers to create a decent surround sound, but you may need up to six loudspeakers, if you want a more realistic sound. The addition of a subwoofer may also be a good way to achieve a complete surround sound like in the movie theaters. Three speakers should be considered the bare minimum, but you may need go up to six if the room is large.

Another major piece of kit for your custom home theater system is the DVD player. It is recommended that DVD players with a progressive scan are the best choice. This is because a progressive scan reproduces a sharp , flicker-free image. However, this depends on the choice of television unit; you will need to make sure that your flat-screen television set supports ‘progressive scan’ protocols. You may also want to get DVD player with a five-disk carousel. This will mean you don’t have to get up from your chair to change the discs so often.

A minor consideration is the power of the DVD player as that will determine how loud your speakers can be played. Of course, almost all this depends on the size of the room in which the home theater system is going to be set up. Small rooms require only a few types of equipment, bigger rooms may require more and adding custom home theater furniture to your home theater system will make a big difference. A bigger room therefore requires more investment. A smaller room might require less, but nevertheless good quality equipment to avoid a too basic feel in the home theater system.

And finally, you might want to consider hiring an expert in home theater in order to set up a beautifully designed custom home theater system. If you have te money, this is definitely the best way to go, because a home theater expert will be able to design and set up your custom home theater more effectively .

Your custom home theater specialist may also recommend the installation of some additional features like a specialized home theater seating structure and even other home theater furniture, such as small tables for snacks and drinks in order to make your custom home theater system more complete and thereby make it more closely resemble full size movie theater. Having the best and highest-quality custom home theater system you can afford, will give you a most sought after installation, one that you can really be proud of and one that will enable you to enjoy your movies to the fullest.

London Adelphi Theatre Love Never Dies

[I:http://jackieevanchoi.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/AbiWestcott3.jpg] The principal characters of The Phantom of the Opera continue their stories in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s LOVE NEVER DIES, currently playing at The Adelphi Theatre London. From the Gothic surrounds of the Paris Opera House to the dazzling heights of New York’s Coney Island – the Phantom returns. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s spectacular new musical reunites the masked Phantom with his only true love and musical protege, the stunning beauty Christine Daae. Love Never Dies is a roller coaster ride of intrigue, obsession and romance – where little is as it first appears.

With Madame Giry’s help the Phantom escaped the Paris mobs to build a glittering new empire inside the new world. For ten prolonged years the Phantom has concealed himself amongst the freaks and sideshows nursing his broken heart as well as yearning for his true love to return.

Now, blinded by money and the bright lights of Coney – Christine, with Raoul and their son Gustave, is lured to America to perform one final time. But Christine soon discovers the true identity of the mysterious impresario who has tempted her across the Atlantic. As old wounds are reopened and forgotten memories unlocked – The Phantom sets out to prove that, indeed, Love Never Dies. [I:http://jackieevanchoi.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/AbiWestcott4.jpg] The Adelphi Theatre was founded in 1806 by merchant John Scott and his daughter Jane. The original name was Sans areil (French for ‘unique’ or ‘without comparison’) Jane was a performer, playwright and British theatre manager at the time. They formed a theatrical company and by 1809 the theatre was licensed for musical entertainments, pantomime, and Burletta (is a musical term generally denoting a short comic Italian (and later English) opera. She wrote more than fifty stage pieces in various genres: melodramas, pantomimes, farces, comic operettas, historical dramas, and adaptations. Jane Scott retired to Surrey in 1819, marrying John Davies Middleton (1790-1867). On 18th October, 1819 the theatre reopened under its present name, which was adopted from the Adelphi Buildings opposite.

In the earlier years, the theatre was recognized for melodrama, called Adelphi Screamers. Many of Charles Dickens tales were being adapted for the stage here, including John Baldwin Buckstone’s The Christening, a comic burletta, which opened on 13th October, 1834, based on the story The Bloomsbury Christening. This is regarded as the initial Dickens adaption performed. Following classics included; The Pickwick Papers, Nicholas Nickleby and the Old Curiosity Shop.

With considerable improvements to the building required, the old theatre was demolished, and on 26th December 1858 The New Adelphi was opened. The new theatre could seat 1,500 people, with standing room for another 500. The interior was lighted by a Stroud’s Patent Sun Lamp, a brilliant array of gas mantles passed through a chandelier of cut-glass.

During the middle 1800s, John Lawrence Toole proved his reputation for comedies at the Adelphi. Additionally during the mid-1800s, the Adelphi held many French operettas which includes La belle Hln. In 1867, the Adelphi hosted the first public performance of Arthur Sullivan’s first opera, Cox and Box. William Terriss, an actor who performed frequently at the Adelphi ended up being stabbed to death on 16th December, 1897 as recorded on a plaque upon the wall by the stage door. Richard Archer Prince (also called William Archer Flint) a bit-part actor perpetrated the murder. It’s alleged that Terriss’ ghost haunts the theatre. Terriss’ daughter was Ellaline Terriss, a famous actress, as well as her husband, actor-manager Seymour Hicks managed the Adelphi for many years at the end of the 19th century.

The theatre re-opened on 11th September, 1901 as the Century Theatre, although the name reverted to the Adlephi in 1904. This theatre was built by Frank Kirk to the design of Ernest Runtz. George Edwardes, the dean of London musical theatre, took over the management of the theatre in 1908. In the early part of the 20th century, the Adelphi was home to a number of musical comedies. The present Adelphi opened on 3rd December, 1930 being re-designed in the Art Deco style by Ernest Schaufelberg. It was named the ‘Royal Adelphi Theatre’ and re-opened with the hit musical Ever Green, by Hart and Rogers. In 1940 the theatre’s name reverted to The Adelphi. The theatre continued to host comedy and musicals.

A proposed redevelopment of Covent Garden by the GLC (Greater London Council) in 1968 saw the theatre under threat, along with the Vaudeville, Garrick, Lyceum and Duchess theatre. A dynamic strategy by Equity the Musicians’ Union and theatre owners under the auspices of the Save London Theatres Campaign thankfully led to the scheme being abandoned. During 1993, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Group purchased the theatre and entirely renovated it before to the opening of his adaptation of Sunset Boulevard.

In November 1997, the Adelphi became home to the London production of the musical Chicago which was the venue’s longest ever running production during its eight-and-a-half year run, which also made it the longest running American musical in West End history. In April 2006, Chicago transferred to the Cambridge Theatre. Since then, the theatre has hosted Evita, Pet Sounds and Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, with the lead part (Lee Mead) being cast by the BBC’s show Any Dream Will Do. Love Never Dies opened in March 2010.

Legally Blonde The Musical at The Savoy Theatre London

Legally Blonde The Musical (opened 5th December, 2009) currently is playing at The Savoy Theatre, that’s situated at Savoy Court, Strand, London, WC2R 0ET. The closest Rail and Tube Station are positioned at Charing Cross. From 10th January 2011 Susan McFadden is playing the star role of Elle Woods in the show. Susan McFadden, is one of the original member of the Legally Blonde cast who as well as playing the role Serena, one of Elle’s sorority sisters, has also been wowing audiences as the show’s alternate Elle since October.

College sweetheart and homecoming queen Elle Woods (Susan McFadden) doesn’t take no for an answer. Then when her boyfriend dumps her for a person serious, Elle puts down the charge card, hits the books, and heads for Harvard Law School! OHMYGOD you guys! I went to see ‘Legally Blonde – The Musical’ at the Savoy Theatre not too long ago and it has to be probably the best musicals or even it IS my favourite show ever! I was totally captured from the moment the songs started until the curtain fell.

Based on the hit movie of the same name, Legally Blonde the Musical is the Broadway sensation created by a top-of-their-class creative team, led by Tony Award-winning director and Olivier nominated choreographer Jerry Mitchell (Hairspray). If you want a fun night out – this can be the show for you. It’s for all those girls from 8 to 108 and, despite the fact that they will not openly admit this – blokes love it too! I couldn’t see anyone who wasn’t smiling, clapping or singing along.

The whole cast is incredibly talented, full of energy and find a way to love every minute of their performance. Sheridan Smith is utterly amazing. I saw her in ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ and she was so goodbut incredibly, she’s even better in ‘Legally Blonde’. Her great voice, her sense of humour, her power to bring across any type of emotion making people believe she means every word she’s just brilliant. Plus she looks amazing! Susan McFadden is also brilliant in the role as Elle. Sandy in Grease at the Piccadilly Theatre after winning the chance beating thousands of hopefuls on ITV1’s reality show Grease is the Word.

‘Legally Blonde’ the film was ok’Legally Blonde – the musical’ however is a must-see in case you don’t go and see it, you’re really missing out. I take my hat off to the cast as well as the Legally Blonde team and would SO TOTALLY go and see it again (hopefully I will!). SNAPS! Legally Blonde the Musical will take you from the social whirl of California Campus life to Harvard’s Halls of Justice with the West End’s brightest new heroine (and of course, her Chihuahua, Bruiser).

Regarding The Savoy Theatre: The very first theatre on this place, also called The Savoy Theatre, was designed by C J Phipps and opened on 10th October, 1881. It’s main entrance was on to The Embankment looking towards The River Thames.

The adjacent Savoy Hotel was constructed in 1889. Both the theatre and hotel were financed by Richard D’Oyly Carte (who was an English talent agent, theatrical impresario, composer and hotelier through the latter half of the Victorian era.) from the profits of Gilbert and Sullivan’s operettas. The theatre’s entrance was transferred to its present position on Savoy Court, off The Strand, in 1902.

Savoy Court, which forms the forecourt to the hotel and theatre, is the only road in Britain where traffic is required by law to drive on the right hand side – this became originally conferred to be a special privilege by Parliament in order that visitors to the Savoy Theatre could be let out of their carriage straight into the theatre.

discerning a career in modeling

There are opportunities out there for the aspiring model or actor, good solid shots at getting into print ads and commercials, walking the runway with some version of the latest fashions, and even appearing in television, film, or music videos. It’s not impossible; people are doing it all the time. Babies, even. Not just in Los Angeles or Milan. Right down the road in Florida. It’s just a matter of getting in touch with the right agency.

Modeling and talent agencies are all over the place, that’s for sure. But many don’t have, shall we say, your best interests at heart. They’re looking for your money, mainly. Your success is not necessarily a priority for them. Which means for you: do your research.

Any agency you work with should be fully licensed. If the agency has been around for at least 15 or 20 years, that’s a good sign they are legitimate. If an agency asks for a signing or registration fee up front, go the other way. Check out the clients the agency has worked with — if you see names you recognize, you’re in good shape. “Target” and “Reebok” are fine names to recognize. “Frank’s After-Hours Bagel and Auto Parts” should probably throw up a red flag.

Your agency should be a guide to the kind of work that suits you best. And not just commercial work. The film industry is thriving everywhere. In Southern Florida, for example, USA Network’s hit “Burn Notice” and Fox’s “The Glades” are both using locally grown talent. A good agency knows how to put you in front of good casting directors.

Maybe you’re nervous that all models and actors must be exotic. The truth is that agencies look for the everyday face, of all ages and experience. That’s who we the people see everyday. Your face may be the best face because it’s so darn familiar.

Lastly, look for a talent agency that’ll help you get started. It’s a truism as old as talent itself that anybody looking to get into the business needs headshots. Model composites. A sense of what kind of work to be seeking. Because no agency, hear me now, can guarantee work. But some can give you a better boost than others.

However, if you are prepared to do everything that is asked of you from this day forward, then Avenue Productions is ready to go to work for you in casting you in the right roles for the right clients. All you need to do is register with this outstanding talent agency and then get to work on the next stage of your acting or modeling career.
